Navigating ADHD: Start with Self-Awareness - Part 1
When you have ADHD, you might feel that becoming more self aware of your distractible brain is like fighting a losing battle.
ADHDers pretty much live in their head which means they’re not paying attention to their bodies, patterns and behavior.
Fortunately, there’s an explanation for that and it resides in those two words: executive functioning.
Self-awareness is one of the most important keys in making life with ADHD less challenging because no system or strategy will be effective if you are clueless about what works and what doesn’t for your brain.
However, people with ADHD tend to have low self awareness and seem to fit the "absent-minded professor" description, which is someone who might seem a bit disconnected from their surroundings or what's happening around them.
Even if they appear to be absent or in their own world, unaware of what is happening around them, they’re not. They're deeply immersed and feel present and in the moment. They are present to thoughts that others can’t see.
This episode will help you shed some light on:
- Why is being self-aware challenging for our brain?
- How can self-awareness be a game changer for ADHDers?
- What is self-awareness and why do we need it?
- How to develop your self-awareness muscle the ADHD way?
And much much more!
Be ready to learn, understand and be empowered in making navigating ADHD-like challenges an enjoyable experience.
